What was actually wrongA DR 48 domain where none of the revenue pages ranked.
Seus Lighting had spent years earning the kind of authority other brands kill for, a Domain Rating of 48 with editorial coverage in the right publications. The problem: that authority was pooling in completely the wrong places. Every commercial page on the store, the pages that actually take buyers' money, was ranking outside the top 20. Meanwhile, blog posts and old promo pages were soaking up the link equity that should have been flowing to product and category pages.
The brand had everything except the result. The standard agency response to this would be "build more links", another twelve months and another six figures of outreach budget, when the actual problem was that the existing authority was being wasted. Every month spent building more links instead of redirecting the existing ones was a month of revenue left on the table.

Most SEO problems are solved by building more, more pages, more links, more content. This one needed the opposite: take the authority Seus already had and route it through internal linking, page consolidation, and on-page hierarchy so it landed on the pages that earn revenue instead of the ones that don't.

Restructured how every page on the store linked to every other page, so equity flowed downhill from authority pages straight into the commercial pages that convert.

Where two or three Seus pages were splitting authority on the same buyer search, we merged them, one strong page beats three weak ones every time.

Restructured on-page hierarchy for AI extraction
Rebuilt page structure so AI engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) could extract clean answers, turning the same authority into citations, not just rankings.
The same domain that couldn't get its commercial pages into the top 20 now had 60,400 organic clicks, 8.03 million search impressions, and 842 distinct citations across ChatGPT, all without earning a single new backlink. The work was almost entirely structural: we showed the authority where to go.
